Texas Speed 228/232 Cathedral Port LS Camshaft
The Texas Speed 228/232 camshaft is a proven naturally aspirated street-performance cam designed for cathedral-port LS engines, including LS1, LS2, and LS6 applications. Its 228/232 duration, .600" lift, and 112 LSA provide a noticeable performance idle, strong midrange power, and excellent top-end performance without sacrificing daily drivability when properly tuned.
This cam uses valve events that work well with either a quality beehive spring or a dual valve spring package. With the proper supporting modifications in place, dyno testing has shown gains of approximately 50-55 rear-wheel horsepower.

Fitment & Important Notes
- A minimum 3200 RPM stall converter is recommended for automatic-transmission applications.
- Custom tuning is required for both automatic and manual-transmission vehicles.
- Upgraded valve springs are required. Recommended options include PAC-1219 beehive springs or TSP/PAC .660" dual valve springs.
- A minimum compression ratio of 10.1:1 is recommended for best performance.
- An upgraded rear gear is not mandatory, but a 3.23 or higher ratio is recommended in automatic vehicles for improved performance.
- Always verify piston-to-valve clearance, valve spring compatibility, and valvetrain geometry during installation.
